Biological in Gravity Load

How is everyone running a biologicalin their gravity loads. The "thing" that we are using seems to be a bit odd.

What is this "thing" you are using? For information on the use of biologicals check AAMI standards ST46 7.5.4 and Annex B

We use a standard biological but we wrap it with an old cord. Seems to be a bit odd if you ask me. Is there a piece of equipment that we can put the biological in? Would an ordinary steam pack work the same?
