Need some information on biological testing of Riley flash Paks used in flash sterilization.
The OR believes that we in SPD could be doing the biological testing in our pre-vac sterilizers.
I told them that they need to be tested in the sterilizers they will be used in.
I also told them that we run our cycles at 10 minutes with a 60 minute dry time, versus their 5 or 10 minute cycles with 1 minute dry time. We challenge with a 3 hour attest, They run their sterilizers on the unwrapped cycle and test with the 1 hr.
They want proof in writing.
I went through the riley flash pack info on their web site and can't find anything to substan:confused:tiate my claims. Am I incorrect?
Also, how many of your OR's actually sterilize a tray in the flashpak and keep it for "up to 24 hours"? I believe that statement should be removed from their advertising as it has been misinterpretated many times, too many to discuss here.
