Another inquiry regarding wages.
Are there any other CRCST's in Northeast/Central PA? I am curious as to if your facility recognizes your certifications, and if you are compensated for them?
We are a union facility, and in my department we are classified as "nursing assistants". My supervisor would like to try to get our classification changed, and get our pay increased. I have just finished the CIS course, and need to take the exam. He feels once I have the CIS certification too it may be easier to fight for it.
I have to admit, after many years, compared to some of the Plants that are moving into my area, our pay is very sad. After 13 years, my pay is
$11.97/hour. Which I feel is very good, but we have a new positon in our Dietary Department called "hostess", which STARTS at $12.00/hour. No education required.
Sorry for the rant, but I absolutely love my job and could not imagine doing anything else. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!
