I am trying to find out information on sterilization markers to be
used for labeling packages. Currently we use the Devon DuraMarker Plus
which is good for labeling tape, but is too "big" to use to label peel
pouches. This leads to staff using the inappropriate pens to label.
Are there any fine tip markers that are acceptable to use for
sterilization? In the past we have tried finer of the DuraMarkers but
they would leak after using only a couple of times, are these worth
trying again? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

We use fine tip Sharpie Markers - they work great!

You can also use "industrial sharpees". They come in regular or fine point. They can withstand the high temperatures of steam.

We have used Sharpies for as long as I have worked in Central Sterile and have never had a problem writing on the tape of Insturment Packages

Sharpies are the way to go and be sure they are temperture regulated. They should be able to withstand the the temps in the sterilizers.
