Cleaning of Floor Procedure Carts

Just trying to get some information regarding current practices regarding the proper decontamination of floor procedure carts. These carts include transportable carts that travel throughout house for certain procedures ( ie code carts, central line carts, broch carts etc ).
My questions are:
1) Where are carts cleaned? On unit or in Decon room?

2) If in Decon, are all disposable items still on cart either removed before being transported to Decon or discarded in the Decon room?

At my hospital, the Distribution department will bring the cart to Decon. They are responsible for clearing any disposible items. If any are left on we toss them in Decon. We clean the cart and sent it back to Distribution for refilling. Hope that helps.
