O.R. Prevacum Flash loads

Even though flash sterilization should be used in emergencies only per standards, what is a realistic rate/percentage of pan/instrument flash loads for direct patient use per all OR. cases, on a daily basis, that we should be at?

Our Flash rate- number of items flashed/number of cases done is less then 4% over the last year. It has taken alot of concerted effort on both the OR and SPD side to make this happen and the administration help in purchasing more instruments. What do other hospitals use to measure their rates?
