Hi Kris,
Your question is timely because I have been experiencing a similar issue. I would first gain measurements of the % humidity in the work areas, and document the readings. It should be between 35 to 75% range. You can purchase the meters from a Wal Mart or similar store. Anything above the 75% creates problems with your tape and stickers, as well as drying instrument issues (as you may be experiencing).
Give engineering a call to see if the HVAC unit is functioning 100% correctly, or they may be able to help the problem with additional ventilation.
I hope this helps...I would not suggest a separte de-humidifier unit, as they are difficult to clean, and require a floor drainage consideration, which you do not want in the department, as well. I am not sure if there is a definative "No" answer to having these units, but I did inquire with IC and they would not want to see a portable unit in the department.....David Narance
Thanks, Our Maintenance Department is trying to work on the problem.
Right now we are running way above the standard humidity which is 80% and has been that way for about a week now.
