I need some help
I recently read the old threads on benchmarking and productivity and am looking for possible updates. I am getting challenged on my FTE’s for my department. We currently process 45 to 50 case carts a day, a heavy mix of ortho. We are a trauma center and maintain 24/7 coverage. We process everything within 24 hours so the weekend is for coverage not for capacity. We have 70 Medic Carts to maintain, bed rentals and wound vacs that we clean and QC ourselves. We maintain a walk-up service for supplies 24/7 but we are not the store room. We assemble the case carts and send them up to the Core. I have no indirect other then myself, so the record keeping, inventory of the supplies used on the process side, employee training, reviews, broken and missing tool report is done by myself or my two leads. The engineering has us at a 60% of our benchmarking.
Decontaim 2 FTE
Assembly 7.5 FTE
Assemblers used for coverage on weekends not capacity, 2 FTE 1st shift, 2FTE’s 2nd shift, 1 FTE 3rd shift.
I calculate that I am 2 assemblers short and .5 in Decontam Does anyone have information I can refer to help me calculate FTE ‘s in assembly
