How hard is the certification test?

I am starting to study to be certified. I was just wondering if anyone out there can tell me what help you most to study. I have been reading the book, but just wonder if you have any suggestions. And also , do you think is was hard? Thanks, Lori

I found it to be helpful to take the test along with the chapter study. if you have any questions, do research at the time to fully understand reason for answer, if you answered incorrectly.
I found the ETO questions difficult - I had worked with ETO years ago but not recently.

If you would go to the IAHCSMM website and download the previous issues of their flyers, you will find some information with questions and answers that might help your studies./ this information also using for earned CEU's. My certification will expire next year and thinking about filling those information up and send them in to be recertified. good luck. shirlham

Well, I got my certification through the CBSPD, so I don't know how helpful this info will be, but here it is anyways! The best study help I had was work experience, and questioning every detail about everything, from decontam to sterilization. Why do we do this, what are the parameters for that? The hardest part for me was the ETO questions, as we don't use that system and haven't for ten years or so. All in all, tho, I didn't find it too difficult.

i have take test one time before but a i think it is hard so just hang in there.

I'd say only about %30 of the test actually pertains to the
average CS department. Memorize facts from the book that
deal with EtO mixtures, stock practices, and computer work.
Other than that, the test is easier than sawing your own arm off.:)

I just took the certification Friday, it was tougher than I thought, but . . . the study guide and test reviews were a big help. There was more on it about ETO than I thought would be. If you know the objectives at the beginning of each chapter you will do fine. Good luck!
