Flash Rate

I assume that you all monitor and quantify the flash rate at your facilities. By flash rate I mean the total number of sets processed in your department divided by the number of flash loads in the OR. This number has given me basis for arguing for purchasing more closed containers. It has worked. My flash rate has declined consistently. Reason for most flash cycles has been tears in wrapped trays. Thanks for your response.

We do ours a little different, our flash rate is the number of surgical cases divided by the number of flash loads. Try the KC transport trays for the wrapped trays, they help!
