Can anyone suggest the name of an independent lab that will test a handful of items to determine if they are still sterile? What qualifications should I be looking for in a test facility?

Hey Tish,
I work for a medical device company and I have a few labs that I work with.

You may want to look at a lab who has the ability to microbiological testing. I work with a lab called NAMSA and they do exceptional work.

You basically will send the products to lab and they will transfer the parts to growth media and allow to incubate at 28-32 degrees C for 14 days. If you get a positive then the part was not sterile. You may also have the positive sent for microbial identification to determine which microorganism caused positive. If you would like please call me at 201-831-5284 and I could help coordinate with you. Leave a message if necessary.
