We are looking for feedback on Ecolab/Huntington's Solid Block Detergents. Has anyone converted to this product? How satisfied are you with it's performance? Has anyone used this product then converted back to liquids or concentrates? Why? Benefits? Disadvantages?
Our facility has used these for a few years and have not had any issues with the products cleaning, etc. We will be converting to Steris products when we install our new Synergy washers (contract, etc.)

We have use the solids for almost a year now. We had no problems with them.

We tried the solids, but had to revert back to liquids because the water quality in this part of the US (Oklahoma) caused a tremendous amount of scale buildup.

We are currently using the solids and have had very few problems. The two instances that we have had were due to machine failure. The first, we had a TON of scale (horribly bad water up here!), and the concentrations were adjusted, and all seemed well. Then we noticed all of our instruments started gaining a blue tinge to them, almost like a Titanium coating color. Upon inspection, we found that one of our tubes that was putting in the green colored detergent had been blocked (causing the abundance of scale) and had finally opened up (allowing a triple dose of detergent!). Once we got all of that straigtened out, we haven't had much problem! We had a really great service rep who brought down a specialist to make sure we were getting our concentrations correct for our water.
