Hello to all, I have a question conerning what is acceptable practice as far as items that were not used on the case cart during a surgical procedure. If we assemble case carts here in CS and the unused items are returned to us to be filed back (put back on the shelves) shouldn't we consider these items contaminated as they were in the operating room during the surgical procedure? I am talking about disposable items and instruments. Also, what is the difference between items that are not used and returned to CS and rigid containers that have been taken out of the room before the surgery starts and returned to CS? Just curious.......
