It depends on the manufacturer of the laparoscopic instruments. I have seen some where they state it can be sterilized together and others state they must be apart for sterilization. Get the cleaning and sterilization instructions from the manufacturer.

We disassemble all instrumentation prior to washing and sterilizing because that is the standard in the industry and the right thing to do. I hope this helps.

Some real good advice so far.
Remember each instrument is different.
Each manufacture has different instructions for use.
Some you take apart others you do not. Some you can take apart and others not at all becasue of design.
Follow the guidelines of the manufacture and you will be doing it the correct way.
Just as an FYI, Iam reading a set of manufactures instructions right now. It states you need to flush the instrumentw with a water pistol, and after rinsing with a clean source of water, item should be sterilzed with all pieces taken apart.
It is very simple for this piece of instrument.
Just follow the manufactures directions.
good Luck
