We have a controversy in our department concerning wet packs. The question is, if you have one wet tray, say in a container, does the entire load get repacked and resterilized or just the tray that is wet? I have my own opinion about this, but I just thought I would throw it out there for some other opinions.

The correct answer is reprocess the entire load. However, some judgement does need to be exercised. Most "wet pack" issues are related to the steam supply, then the sterilizer, then the loading techniques. Then the type of wet packs. Is the moisture visible? Inside or outside? If inside, are you allowing the load to cool to room temp before inspecting. Beads or puddles on the outside of nonwoven wrap? Basin sets or trays? Is there a debate over the degree the wick towel is damp? Multi layer plastic trays that weight over 30 lbs? Plastic/Paper Pouches?
Each and every one could point to a possible solution. But first, check your steam supply. Have the house facility folks walk the steam line and verify each and every trap is funtioning. And remember, most "wet" pack occur during the Spring and Fall months as the building transitions from heating to cooling

I would think, ideally, the whole load would be repacked and resterilized to prevent other sets/trays from the same load being opened in a room wet.
