Is anyone familiar with PICIS system used in the OR for preference sheets, picklists, etc. If so, do you know if they have a sterile processing tracking component?

I do not know but our hospital is going to be installing the system in the next couple of months in the OR. I asked our Director for a tracking system for the instruments in CS.She did not want to install anything new because of this. I will try to find out. I really want to know also.

We have had this system in place for the past 2 years. I understand that it is possible to use it as a tracking system, but will not give you real time tracking. When it was introduced here the PICIS Educators were fairly unfamiliar with using it for instruments. It is a good system, but has provided many challenges for the CP Dept. Please ask to be a part of the implementation process it does make a difference (would have for us!). :(

We are installing the Pyxis system. We met with the reps today and they did not have a system just for CS. The Cardinal Health rep directed me to V- Meuller Company. He said that depending on your level of purchases that they could put in a system at a reasonable price.
