Sterilization of Liquids

:confused: In my CS department liquids are sterilized for as long as thirty mins. This is new to me since where I worked before we only did liquids for 15 mins or less. Which is correct?

We do not sterilize liquids, although I would love to find out some more information on doing this. We have run into a couple of situations where we ran out of sterile mineral oil, and would have been nice to sterilize some.
