Thread: Practice tests

    Red face Practice tests

Is anyone aware of any practice tests for the certification exam? I work in sterile processing where it is mandatory for certification. I've also seen many good workers let go because they failed the test. We get two attempts.

It would be very beneficial if there were 2 or 3 practice tests of 150 questions; and yes, with answers.

I remember when I passed my exam but didn't know which questions I missed. It sure would have been nice.

Please don't say do all the section quizes of the workbook. Is there any tests out there of 150 questions? Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't think there is any practice quizzes except for what is in the work book. I would recommend doing what is in the work book. I just took the test and they didn't tell me what I missed. They just told me in percentages. They divide it up into sections. {Decontam, Assembly, Sterilizing, Storage},{ Recieving, Storage, Trans. and Disp.}. All that is covered in the book. I'de say if you do the technical part on a daily basis study chapters 14 -20 like a mad man. Do a good overview for chapters 1-13. It seemed to me that a lot of it was on the functional part. Hope this helps!

If you currently work in CPD and know the day to operations of the department, then you will pass the test. The test is all about what you know when the books are taken away. My best advise to you is to enroll into a CS training program with an Approved IAHCSMM instructor - ask every questions you will think about through out the training and take note.

    Default Thank you Charles

Thank you charles, I took the course and I am working in cs at an offsite reprocessing center but we do not do code carts and go to the floors to pick up stuff, also we do not do materials management stuff here so those are the topics I will have to rely on the book for information. But thanks a bunch.

Yes they do have questions about MM. What I recall is like types of inventory systems, maybe ways to order items, distrubution. I think if you study closely with that workbook you'll do fine. The workbook does have the answers. It does help.

    Smile Sunshine

Hello Sunshine and others, you guys have been a great help, I will certainly hit the books and do the little questions at the end of each lesson also I have some other stuff that I prepared for myself while I was taking the course. I will be confirming my exam date for mid March, I will keep my fingers cross.
